Sako is Sending a Shipload of New S90 Bolt-Action Rifles for America's Hunters

A sleeper story from SHOT '24 is the news that the new Sako S90 line is headed into America from Finland.

An evolution of the old Sako S85 series, the Sako S90s are made in Finland, and use a standard Picatinny-style optics mount (except on the Hunter, which has a traditional Tikka-style Opti-lock 17mm dovetail) machined directly onto the top of the receiver.

They all have the company's legendary cold-hammer-forged barrels, along with new pattern user-adjustable single-stage trigger, detachable all-metal magazines, and carry a very old-world bolt-action feel but with a very modern delivery. Plus, there will be several variants spanning multiple caliber options in both short and long action, stock patterns, and features.

The first three headed to retailers in the U.S. are the S90 Adventure (in .22-250 Rem, .243 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08, .308 Win, .270 Win, .30-06 Spring., .270 WSM, .300 WSM, 6.5 PRC, 7mm Rem Mag, and .300 Win Mag), the Sako 90 Quest (.22-250 Rem, .243 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win, .270 Win, .30-06 Sprng., 7mm Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag) and the Sako S90 Hunter (.222 Rem, .223 Rem, .22-250 Rem, .243 Win, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08, .308 Win, .270 Win, .30-06 Sprng, .270 WSM, .300 WSM, 7mm Rem Mag, .300 Win Mag, .338 Win Mag, .375 H&H Mag.).
