Ingenuity and craftsmanship always impress me at SHOT Show, so when I saw a dress made of bullet casings, I had to stop.

The tale got even better after I heard how these dresses were made.

I’ve seen clothing and accessories made from ammunition before. Usually, it’s artists who might shoot occasionally and see it as an interesting medium in which to make things. They usually go to a range and collect other people’s abandoned brass and use them in their creations.

However, Miona Badzevic Andelkovic is a different type of maker. A professional shooter from Serbia, Miona shoots for a living and, like many of us, collects her spent brass.

One day, she got the idea to start making jewelry from her brass, and that evolved into making full-on dresses. She did have some traditional seamstress experience, so dresses were a natural direction for her.

What really set these creations apart is that each casing was fired, collected, and polished by Miona. Each piece of brass is part of her journey and shooting career. Apart from being beautiful works of art, they tell a story.

For Miona, each bullet is a victory – thus, each dress is a dress of victories. To her, they symbolize empowerment, strength, and the transformative power of women in the shooting sports.

Miona’s creations were certainly a big hit at SHOT Show 2024. You can follow her on Instagram, and she is working on setting up sales of her jewelry and clothing.
