We had another great year of reviews this year at Guns.com, but just like years past, there are always surprises for us when it comes to what sticks for reviews. We try to write about a diverse set of guns for all uses and for people from all walks of life. These are the best reviews we published in 2023. Enjoy the list – we enjoyed reviewing them for you.

10. Tisas 1911 A1

Sometimes you just want a no-frills review of a basic gun, and that’s perfectly fine. The Tisas 1911 A1 is about as basic of a 1911 as you’re going to get. But it functions well and delivers an affordable classic gun to those needing to fill that hole in the safe. Read More…

9. Smith & Wesson M&P FPC

When Smith & Wesson released the M&P FPC in February last year, it immediately shot to the top of our sales charts, where it sat for a long time. It’s still enjoying a great sales streak, and from the looks of it, people are really enjoying their range time with it. This innovative folding carbine would work great in any number of defensive capacities. Read More…

8. Taurus C45 Thunderbolt

Talk about a surprise – both the gun and the review! When we first saw the C45 Thunderbolt, we thought it was quite the odd curiosity from Taurus. A pump-action rifle chambered in .45 LC? From a company best known for making affordable and well-respected defensive guns these days? Curiosity must have gotten the best of everyone, as this was one of our top reviews in July. 7. FN Reflex

FN hit the jackpot this summer when it introduced a new micro-compact to the concealed carry scene. The Reflex is a well-received break from the norm. It’s loaded with features yet maintains an affordable price point. We ran 1,000 rounds through two of them, and you showed that you loved it as one of our best reviews of the year. Read More…

6. Sand Viper vs. Pit Viper

This is the first time you’ll hear the name Taran Tactical on this list, but it won’t be the last. Founder Taran Butler is best known for training Keanu Reeves for the John Wick movies. He also designed some of the guns for the movies, the Pit Viper being one of them. In this review we compared the Pit Viper to its slightly more attainable brother: the Sand Viper. Both are flashy race guns are built to run with speed and precision, just like Mr. Wick. Read More…

5. Ruger No. 1

As we’re about to see in the next few reviews, not all the guns that become popular reviews are flashy or new. This is the case with the Ruger No. 1 review that we published back in January. While the lineage of the No. 1 rifle can be traced back over 55 years, the review is still just as pertinent today, giving you every reason to check out this single-shot wonder. Read More…

4. Browning Light Twelve Auto-5

When we first published the review of the Light Twelve Auto-5 back in June, we thought there would be some interest, but I don’t think anyone thought there would be enough interest to bump it up into the top five reviews of the year. We pulled a vintage beauty from the certified used collection and proved that despite its age and distinguished looks, it’s still a shooter. Read More…

3. Smith & Wesson Walther PPK/S

For those not in the know, Smith & Wesson owned Walther for a time and cranked out several PPK variants. It seems either not enough people knew, or people just really love the PPK, because this ended up at a surprising number three. See why people still clamor to an old favorite, no matter what name is on the side. Read More…

2. SIG Sauer Tango MSR Optic

In what may be the most surprising result, an optic review comes in at number two. It’s not that we never review optics; we do, but this review of SIG Sauer's Tango MSR Optic really seemed to hit. This might also show the growth and continued popularity of SIG optics. They continue to provide answers to what consumers want at an affordable price, leaving many wanting to know more. Read More…

1. Taran Tactical Innovations Pit Viper

TTI Pit Viper Handgun

When “John Wick: Chapter 4” hit theaters earlier this year, everyone clamored to know what gun Mr. Wick was shooting. As it turns out, we got our hands on a copy of his gun early, dubbed the Pit Viper. The review proved to be a smash hit when we first published it and never really lost steam all year, regularly staying in the monthly top 10. Read More…
