Mantis, producers of the MantisX and some of the best dry fire training tools in the industry, showed up to SHOT Show 2022 with a few new tricks in the bag. Ammon Allgaier showed us what was in line for 2022 release, but before he did that he showed us what the Blackbeard system was capable of. "What it allows you to do si dry-fire at home much more efficiently and a lot more quickly than you would do normally," Allgaier told us. How Blackbeard does this is by resetting the hammer every time you pull the trigger so you don't have to rack the charging handle every time.

The system is designed to be extremely user friendly so you can get to dry fire training quickly. All of the Blackbeard systems integrate with the Mantis app to give you instant feedback and useful data. (Photo: Paul Peterson/Guns.com)

This is where the magic happens. On your phone you'll be able to download the app and get data in real time to show you how your shots fall. (Photo: Paul Peterson/Guns.com)

It's a simple drop-in system that is designed to interface with all mil-spec parts. Replace your bolt carrier group and magazine and you're off the races, dry-fire training with instant feedback. The system can deliver up to 10 shots per second and you'll get about 100,000 shots per charge on the magazine. All of this interfaces with the Mantis app to give you the data you need to be a better shooter when the bullets start flying. After all of that was out of the way Alligaier showed us what was brand new for 2022.

The next addition, and one that should make PCC competitors very happy, is the CMMG Banshee platform in 9mm. Again, everything is designed to work exactly as it would with the normal Blackbeard system. (Photo: Paul Peterson/Guns.com)
